Currently researching for my new build and have decided to use water cooling for the first time. Based on other people's experience I'd like to know if using push/pull on a rad makes a big difference to temps compared to using just two fans one one side, also what is seen as the best setup: pulling air in case through rad or pushing it out? Sorry if these are stupid questions as I have no experience in this whatsoever

What case have you got?

I'm currently running push/pull on my system (as I had an excess of fans left over) at full load I probably see 1/2 degrees difference in temperatures

I generally have my top radiator set as an exhaust (don't see the point in fighting convection) with 2 lower radiators configured as an intake. Just need to make sure theres a decent airflow through the radiators

I haven't got any case at the moment as I'm starting out from scratch again. I'm really tempted to go smaller this time, something like the corsair air 240 or obsidian 250, although these will limit my options I'm up for a challenge, just nervous about having water near expensive components as I can be clumsy lol I can see myself bottling it and going down the AIO route

Just take your time, run the pump overnight to leak test before finishing adding all your components in and powering up.

As for push or pull on the rads, theres been a few tests posted on forums, and tehre was small differences in temps depending on the fan type and the speed you run them, but i would say fix them which ever side makes it easier to attach them to your case. Ive never tried push-pull together on my rads, i read it makes a slight improvement but not enough to justify running an extra 5 fans on my rads.
