Hey guys

Got a new Thermaltake Kandalf LCS case last night, however the pipes that their pump and resiviour use are only 3/8". However my Danger Den 8800GTX water blocks use bigger connectors so the pipes dont fit. Would this mean I have to get a new pump, resiviour and cpu block or is there some kind of adapter that can go between the gfx cards and pipe?

Cheers

You could just buy different barbs for you Danger den 8800 Block :)

Yup they should just screw out. Iirc the thread size is G1/4 so replace the barbs with the same thread g1/4 to 3/8.

ah cheers man wondered why it had 1/4" and 1/2" sizes quoted shall get me some of them so I can complete my install.

G1/4 is the screw size - 3/8 will be the barb size. Double check on the screw size though as I aint 100% sure the DD GPU block uses G1/4 (although the other blocks in the range do afaik).

Cheers for the info chap got 4 of them ordered going to set up a seperate cooler for the cards heres how the rig is looking so far just a shame there isnt enough room on my mobo for both 8800's

2nd card would hit against the pump and res at the bottom of the case,

i have a similar setup.

Loving mine so far lol keeping my quad core x3210 at 3ghz at pretty good temps

Plus without the waterblocks on the gfx cards I am unable to fit the physix card in due to the massive heatsinks.

Didnt realise it wont clear the pump. Any ideas on how to solve that one?

Can it be moved towards the front of the case a bit more if you're not using the front bays? I'm not familiar with the case so I dont know for sure.

Good thinking that man I can remove the HDD tray as I dont use it and mount it in there.

See you have it setup diff to me lol.

I removed the tray up by the psu, dont like it blocking airflow into it.

I also removed the 2 smaller fans, 1 at the top, and the 1 small one above the large back fan,

My hdd's i fitted into the tray, and moved that higher up.

Allowing me to fit the pump and res sideways further back into the 5" bays.

I dont use crossfire or sli, as for the physx card lol, best place is in the bin or on the auction site i think lol.

not a fan of them ;) well not at the moment anyways lol :D

How do you find the cooling with the builtin LCS. i am currently thinking of buying the Armour with LCS.

How/where do you fill up the resevior?

its not doing a bad job compaired to the air coolers i have tried.

Its sitting idle at 37-38c and load at high 57-58c on my 3ghz clocked quad core. so im happy with it lol.

filling it up is a pain, but its not summat you do very often, and you can buy a bay res that can go in a 5" bay and thats easier to fill.

You fill it via the resevoir which is attached to the pump included with the kit.

Quick one for you mate, the armor comes with a less powerful pump and its not a tripple fan rad. The Kandalf has better cooling performance.
