Hey all,

Following on from my previous thread... I have some more questions on water cooling...

1. What is the difference between:

And
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-021-SW&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=193

2) What is so good that this costs so much?:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-027-DD&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=193

3) Pre-built or custom build water cooling? (I.e. A pre-built package (Like the apex in question 1 or custom parts)

4) What are the advantages of Water Cooling?

5) Are there any disadvantages?

6) Will water cooling make your PC more silent or is the pump just as loud as fans?

Quite a few there, but if you could answer them, that'd be great :)

Marky

1 - The second kit has chipset and GPU blocks.

2 - It's a full cover block (lots of copper).

3 - Custom and pick the best parts.

4 - Lower temps & higher clocks than air.

5 - None really. You may have to empty and adjust the loop if you change to a motherboard or case with a different lay-out. And some maintenance is required (topping up water level, changing water every so often etc).

6 - Well you'll still need air flow through your case. Plus the radiator will need a fan/fans. Pumps normally can't be heard over the fans.

i would build a coustom kit using a thermochill rad, ddc pump and a d-tek fuzion or swiftech appogee gtx ;)

imo anything else would be a half measure

there are some good uk water specialists searchable through google
