Right then,

I've bolted my rad into my Lian Li by fabricating a bracket that utilises the HDD cage thumb screws & holes :)

I understand than you dont want have the fan too close as you get dead spots & turbulance noise.
So i've mounted the fan a couple of inches away, with the intention of making a tunnel / shrowd to direct the air flow.

does this look ok or have i missed the point completely

Excellent news, i got a bit Dremmel happy & before i knew it i'd mounted it all in then i though ooh ek, is it too far away

hmmm, is it worth doing that to mine me think's on the 120.1 or the 120.2, what are the advantages of this.

In theory...

If the fan is too close you get a dead spots (almost zero air flow) in the middle (motor housing area) & the outer edges (no blade coverage)
So in effect you're not cooling those parts of the radiator

Also you get a turbulance noise, so if you move the radiator away a bit it should be quieter

Looks hot dude (ie: sexy)

Gutted fans are good mate for shrouds. I did one on my XP-120 when i use to air cool, exactly as tom did, glue, tape, temps went a bit 1/2c least and was silent for once! I use the Thermochill shroud's on mine just fits my case i think (awating arrival)

Think about or take a look at a fan. if you use a 120mm and a 120mm gutted fan they will be the same internaly.....
