This is hopefully going to be my first water cooling kit, so i wanna make sure i get it right. Does the above look compatable with each other? It's just going to be for my Q6600.

Secondly, can anyone reccomend a slightly cheaper pump? The only reason i chose that one was because of Huddys thread, and it seemed pretty decent. I'm not worried about what it looks like, hence why i'm a bit reluctant to spend £40 on a pump when one around £20-£30 will do the same?

Also, is the tubing correct for all of the bits? I chose 2 metres because i wasn't sure if 1m would be enough :o The waterblock said that it didnt come with barbs, so i presume i chose the correct ones?

Thanks for any tips!

both threads almost the same loops on the go at once lol
if you look around most ppl go for the 1/2" barbs with that tubing it gives a better fit. and i think you need 2 more barbs for the rad as well im not sure it comes with any

The 2m of tubing should be enough depending on where your rad will be mounted etc. although you'll want to use 1/2" barbs with that tubing otherwise it will be prone to leaking if you use 3/8" barbs (since the 3/8" barbs are designed for smaller 3/8" tubing, and wil result in a very loose fitting). Also you'll need 6 barbs (assuming that the res/pump, cpu block and rad don't come with any).

Another thing is that since you're using the supreme it's pretty mch essential to get a backplate with it (linky) otherwise it is very likely that it will bow and possibly break your motherboard (and if it doesn't hte mount pressure will be limited), however I have heard that some of the newer shipments of supremes come with a backplate although I purchased one two months back and it didn't come with.

As for the pumps - I have no idea how the ones you are looking at perform, however I do know that the supreme does need a fairly decent pump to perform well.

Thanks Squakingcow, just what i needed :)

I'm planning to mount the rad outside at the rear of the case, so i'll get the extra tubing just in case. Thanks for mentioning the backplate for the CPU block, i would have overlooked that otherwise. I'll phone up OcUK and ask if the ones shipping have one included though.

As for the barbs, i guess you mean these? If so, what are these for? The descryption says they're for rads?

Thanks again.

Those are for the thermochill rads with a non-standard thread type (G3/8 whereas most components use G1/4). I'm fairly sure that the alphacool rad you're looking at uses a G1/4 thread type (although you might want to check up on that just in case).

And yeah- the first barbs you linked to are the right ones :)

Hmm, the Alphacool website says 1/4"

"Connections: 2x G1/4" inch"

However wont i be using 1/2" barbs? Or is the thread still the same?

Yup, even though you are using 1/2" barbs the thread type required doesn't need to change (which in this case by the sounds of things you need barbs with G1/4 threads).
