Ok gents, your input is required. I've maintained and assembled a few water cooling loops before but I'm now about to assemble my own.

Here is what I was thinking:

I wanted a 360mm rad so I can add a GPU block at a later date.

Basically is this Ok? Enough fluid? The right barbs? Strong enough pump?

I don't want to spend much more than this so what would you guys recommend.

Am I right in my thought that if fans are running low speed they should be pulling rather than pushing?

Could I even run it passively when idling at desktop?

Oh and of course, if there's anyway I can reduce the price it would be greatly appreciated.

Looks good to me.. Very similar to mine.

I would add the GPU cooling now.. You might want 2 litres of fluid.. I just broke into the second for mine.

Check if the water products don't already come with barbs.

Hose clips and anti-kink coils?

I'd put mount the fans pushing through the rad, and your best bet is to fit a fan controller if you want to vary fan speed, I wouldn't leave it passive if it were me though.

Yeah, 2L would be better. Already got the fan controller sorted too. Clips and coils are cheap so that's good too.

Are anti kink coils necessary? I was under the -false- impression that they were only needed for thinner tubing.

Any other advice?

They work to stop the pipe kinking on tightish bends when it's warmed up, it also looks much better :D

Are you adding lighting? u.v. etc, just a thought as you might want u.v. reactive fluid and coils (if you get them).

Also have you thought about a draining tee?

No need for clips.. the 7/16 is a very tight fit on 1/2 barbs. They ain't going nowhere once on.

When fitting, soak the ends of the tubing in warm-to hot (not boiling) water then push on - job done :)

Personal choice, but I had one blow off after about an hours running on a rig I built about a year ago and I leave me rig on overnight quite regularly so wouldn't take that chance myself.
