HI there guys,

I have Cosmos s case and i was wondering which size Radiator is best to get to fit at top of case ? if you can give me links to what you think are best on overclockers please .

I am going to be water cooling GTX280 & CPU Q9550 .I have the blocks for them now which are EK-FC280 280GTX & Swiftech Apogee GTZ .
All i need now is Radiator and good pump .

Thanks for reading .

Yea, it takes a triple rad at the top. However, Marine Iguana linked to the Thermochill one and I they have different spacing for the mounting holes to most other rads. Whether this will make mounting it a bit harder or not I dont know.

Have a look here, about 2/3 of the way down he upgrades to a cosmos S and fits a triple in the roof and a double at the bottom :) Shows how much you can fit in that case!!

Ok got the gear add some problems but i seem to of over come them ,
was just wondering to any one that as the pump ,How lourd should it be ? .

And all so whats best on the rad to have fans inside the pc blowing up and out over the rad or out side the pc on top of the rad sucking out air .

As to me it the cpu seems not as cool as i hoped for getting with no load 31c 32c on 6600 dual core i do have Q9550 but i am lapping that as its the hot chip c1 or some thing .And was all ways getting 50 c on that one with fan at stock speed .

So if any one can help me on them things would be great thank you .

Struggling a bit to understand you. The pump should be very quiet if you have any fans running at 12V. If you've run it without any water for any length of time you'll have damaged it, and it is likely to be louder. I'm using the laing ddc 18W and the psu fan is louder.

You want the fans drawing air in from outside the case, blowing down into it. I'd have the fans inside the case personally, but if you want them outside blowing air down that's your call.

Temperatures will be quite crap if you haven't bled the loop properly, i.e. got all of the air out. Can't see what fans you're using, if they're 1000rpm led ones that's your mistake right there

hi yeah i was in a rush last night as i was my on mums laptop :D

Any how yeah i have same pump 18w ultra

No competitors

Yeah the pump was low in sound tbh just that i have never used this kind pump system only ever had external pump zalman tower .

so with the fans its best to have fans on top of the rad blowing down in to the pc to cool the rad and hot air sucked out the back with out take fan ..

Ah ok ill have to try that but atm my GTX is broken and its going back under RMA today . then ill be stuck as my card is 280gtx and they dont make them any more ,So means ill have 280 water block and 285 card when i get it back i am so damn unlucky :( .

ah yes the fans that i have in there are Xigmatek 120mm running @ 1500rpm x 4 and i have 140mm @ the lowest point in the front of the case running @ 1000rpm but i dont run them all full speed i set them all to 1000 rpm or untill its good sound :D but still good air at the same time ...

Cheers guys

Do not use any coolant with dye in it...

It will build up in your radiator over time and it's a bugger to get out.

I've had two thermochill radiators for years and my first watercooling build used dye - since then I've only used straight distilled water which has been running clear.

However, I put descaler in with hot water today and the stuff come out blue.

I do wonder when cleaning out radiators how much of it is blue Copper (II) salts from cleaning and how much is really dye - always seems to come out bluish after leaving it in there a while...

Hey guys .
Can any one tel me which size Compression i would need to fits 1/2" ID - 3/4" OD Clear
Hose (XSPC) .As i am using the clips at the moment and i hate them there a right pig to get open if you need to do some work on the water cooling system .

Thanks

1/2" compressions. Its the inner diameter people work to, since barbs go on the inside.

Compression fitting has to match, you can't use oversized or undersized tubing for a tighter fit. Definitely 1/2" compressions for 1/2" ID tubing.

Hi and thanks for that info ..

Any ways can any one tel me what this sound is .

When pc is on and the pump is going i am getting this sound from cpu where the water is going in like a crackling sound .You know when you use jet wash the power of that say hitting the floor was wondering if this sound is same kinder thing where its go a lot power to push hard the water and it just hitting the surface of the inside of the water block ,Am i right in saying that or do i have air traped some where in the loop ?????? ..

Thanks

Any ideas please ..

I tend to just run the pumps on there own.. i.e. short the green and a black wire on your motherboard power connector so the PSU thinks it's connected to the motherboard.. let it run for a while rock the case from side to side now and then.. within an hour most of the air should be gone.. couple of hours later it will run silent.. make sure you top the res up as more air comes out of the loop

any black wire they are all "ground" anyways.. is one right next to the green however.. so I just use that.. a staple between the two or a short piece of wire works well..

Yeah i tryed that today and done it that way but the comp would not boot ,The fans started to light up then nothing ,so i move it to another black and still same odd tbh .

Ah well .
