Lol I can never stop improving my computer

Already bought a Fractal Design Define R3 Series ATX Case - Black Pearl case

And now Im thinking of a water cooling sytem to go along with my computer setup

Intel Core i5-2500K
MSI P67A-GD53 (B3), Intel P67, ATX, DDR3
2x Palit Geforce GTX 570, 1280MB, PCI-Express
4GB-KIT Mushkin Silverline Stiletto PC3-10667U CL9-9-9-24
Samsung SH-223C bare schwarz SATA
Samsung SpinPoint F3 1000GB, SATA II (HD103SJ)
Corsair CMPSU-750HX Professional Series 750W Power Supply Corsair CMPSU-750HX Professional Series 750W Power Supply

Now I dont know much about water cooling sytems so im wondering what are the ups and down pts of it and how much would it cost and any recommendations what I should be please

Ups

- You get amazing temps
- It looks fantastic

Downs

- It is ridiculously expensive
- It requires maintenance

This would probably be better suited to the Watercooling section though

Upsides

Can be very quiet
Can be cooler (so you may be able to squeeze a few more MHz out)
Can look awesomesauce

Downsides

Will be more expensive than air
Will require a lot of time to set up
Will make your PC heavier and harder to move

A good set up will be expensive, I'm not up on prices but lots on here are and I'm sure they'll chip in

oh sorry Jordan, I didnt know there was a watercooling section

Maybe a mod could move it there please

So jordan can you tell me how much would I be looking at for the watercooling sytem?

It depends on how much performance you are looking at.

If you were to buy all brand new from here, you could probably get a half decent one that would cool just your CPU and will be better than air for around £150-£250.

If you wanted to cool everything though, or just have top notch performance, you could spend anything up to £800.

Alternatively, there are pre packaged EK watercooling kits here:

That work out cheaper than if you bought the parts separately, but the components aren't the best.

thanks for that

My plan is to have the computer quiet, also I plan to put in a sound card sometime but if I do it could block the airflow of my gtx 570

so what you recommend for me ?

Do some reading into watercooling. It isn't to be rushed into and taken lightly, Only you can decide how much you want to spend versus the results you hope to achieve

I can tell ya im willing to spend 150-300, nothing higher

Having a semi quiet pc would be such a plus for me tbh, I think its worth it tbh

But I would like to know if I get this in can I install a sound card even thou it might block the airflow of the gtx 570

There's no real need for a sound card unless you have a 5/7.1 surround sound device.

Otherwise, onboard is good enough for anyone :)

Also, i have a wireless card in front of my Graphics card, and from when it wasn't there to when it was i've had maybe 2-3 degrees difference at full load :)

I would like to get best out of a proper headset ya know

Ill have to investigate would a sound interfere with the airflow

Any pcie card would work as u have a pciex1 slot above the top gpu and that would not restrict the airflow to the cards.
Edit: As for watercooling ur looking at £300+ to cool cpu and sli gpu's.
Edit2: This would be a start but u would need a couple of gpu blocks at around £60-£65 each + at least another 120mm rad so say £30, then add 4 more fittings and an sli fitting and u have maybe another £15 so cheapest would be around £350.

For semi decent headphones the Xonar DG is ideal. It's quite small, I have one directly below my 5850. It's practically touching it, but the PCB does not cover the fan (reference blower type). Dual fan cards might be a bit stifled if the PCI slot is very close, though I doubt it will make a huge difference. If you are water cooling it makes quite a lot of this moot, and waterblocks are often a lot slimmer than air coolers
