water damaged nintendo ds. chances of survival?

Long story short, my daughters ds ended up in the swimming pool on holiday. I put it in the hottest room in a bowl of rice. Has anyone ever recovered there ds from water damage before?

Unlikely as water damage to the circuit board generally results in corrosion. Leaving it to dry may work temporarily but its likely to cause lasting damage.

Not if it's dried properly. A lot of circuit boards are actually put through an industrial washing machine as part of the production process.
