Hi Guys!... I'm new here and I've already found this place VERY usefull!.

Anyhew, I've just bought myself a 96 P-reg 214Si (Bubble) to get me to and from work to try and save petrol over my CR-V (which its done already!!).

Yesterday I found a VERY large puddle under the car, Thinking the worst I started pannicing!... Thinking Head Gasket or summut!.. (specially after some threads I've seen here!!)

Strangly the water was coming from the back!?!.. on further investigation the water seems to be comming from the 'Front' of the Back-box on the exhaust (not the tail pipe!) I cant hear or see any blowing holes!... but thats not the problem!..

Does anyone know where its coming from or why I'm getting Loads of, clean no Oil or extras, Water coming out of my exhaust!?!...

I have noticed the Radiator Headder tank has been overfilled!... does the Expansion tank dump out somewere in the rear??...

We're gonna syphon off the extra water today and see!!!...

Does anyone know what it could be!????..

Cheers
Simon. :)

Thanks guys!... Thats basicly what the guys over at the MG-Rover forums said too!... and the bloke in KwikFit (but I had to check his advice as I've been fobbed off before!!)..

I'll keep an eye on Both the Coolant and Oil!... but after a quick thrash between J16 to J17 on the M4 and back there's no more water coming out!...

It's just me panicing cos of all the HGF threads arround here and the MG-R Forums!..

Given that your CR-V is going to be at most a 2 litre VTEC how on earth do you expect to save money on petrol by taxing, running, buying and insuring a second car? You might think you are saving money on petrol but it'll be years before the saving pays off all the additional expense!

The CR-V is up for sale on AutoTrader!, It's sitting in my Garage and I only run it once a week to keep the Battery fresh!.. We're gonna get a Civic once its sold and then probly sell the Rover!.. :p

It was removed to reduce weight. ;)

when I first got my 214i it smoked heavily and loads of water was coming out of the back. It was only used for very short journeys and stood about most of the time.

I took it for a blast down to Soton for the mini-meet and it sorted it out nicely. :)

Yep that seems to be the concensus from the guys over at the MG-Rover Forums!... and this morning I found it to be true (I hope) There appears to be no water coming out after my 36mile journey to work, The Coolant level (Syphoned down to the correct level yesterday whilst the car was cold!!) is still nicly about the MAX mark... All other fluids are normal!...

BTW I now have a bottle of 10w/40 and Rad-coolant in the boot Just in Case!! ;)
