Hi all,

Bought a new washing machine and plumbed it all in fine. Transport bolts removed etc

Gave it a test run before moving it into position and noticed water on the back skirting board behind the machine. The wall is bone dry but it's just the skirting that has water on top and is wet, as is the floor that adjoins. No holes in the water I take pipe, or the waste pipe either.

It's baffling me... Can water rise maybe from outside or maybe something I've missed?

Pull the machine out a bit enough so that you can observe the pipes while it's operating, then put it on a short rinse cycle.

The water inlet hose might just need tightening up a little more, or maybe there's a bit of grit on the rubber seal that could have easily been missed. Failing that, it could be the waste pipe - if you have a standing pipe, is the waste pipe pushed down the standing pipe far enough? If your waste pipe pushes onto what looks like a cone, is it pushed on far enough? If it's leaking after being pushed on, you might need a jubilee clamp or spring hose clamp to tighten the grip.
