The first tangible effects are materialising as a water company in Kent has been given the go-ahead to force householders to accept water meters.

I'm sure others will follow. I just hope we don't end up with stand pipes later in the year.

Maybe people will start saving water now.. maybe some water companies might begin fixing leaks too..!

move north! Kielder isnt even used..its just a big playground for people with boats

you can wash your car and water your grass as much as you like

Not sure who we are with, but they are always phoning us up and asking if we would like to change to a meter. No chance of that happening, unless they force us!

I think that maybe the case.. Looking at Hanningfield this weekend, the levels are certainly down.. We don't really get that much rainfull during the winter months anymore, but Summer normally makes up for it.

They do, and they spend a lot of money doing it. Company i work for do Leakage Detection in water companies all over the world. But it is a) time consuming and b) needs to get passed onto a contractor once a leak is detected

Nah, just use a bucket of water to wash the car, don’t water the grass and remember the toilet rule – if it’s yellow, let it mellow. If it’s brown, flush it down.
