Firstly sorry for the title and serves you right the people that came here to gloat at a wet pc :p

Ok my first attempt at a water cooling a system and I have a few questions, below is a list of what I thought about getting is it better than the Swiftech H20-220 Apex Ultra kit?

Black Ice GT stealth II 240mm radiator
Alphacool laing D4 ½”
Alphacool 5.25” slot it reservoir
XSPC X2O Extreme CPU block

If it is better than the swiftech kit are there any improvements to be made? The total of that lot is about £150 odd, obviously I needs some fans etc.

Can any one give me a rough difference between 2*120mm sized radiators and 1*120mm in terms of cooling. (1*120mm would be easier to fit in my pc7)

And my last question what pipe would I need for that lot? ½” I presume?

Oh and its to cool my Conroe and maybe my 1900xtx but not right now.

Better off with a 120.2 rad if your cooling both cpu & a X1900XT,120.1 will not cope with both very well at all.

The swiftech is a really good bit of kit for the money mate ;)

You will need some 1/2" ID tubing or 7/16" ID Tubing either will be fine, your spec looks ok,but i would be changing the cpu block,NexXxos maybe or storm block ?

its sure is, fits 2 x 120mm fans no problem. ave got 2 YS-TECH FD1225 120mm Fans running at 7vs. nice and slient and runs sweetly

The 7/16" tubing is just as good as 1/2" but it's less bulky and easier to worki with. Use it with the 1/2" barbs.

Ok thanks, I might go with the Swiftech H20-220 Apex Ultra kit then as it will be less of a headache to setup. What are the fans like at 1000rpm? And what’s a suitable block for a 1900XFX, ideally something that would cover the ram too.

Orderd the Swiftech H20-220 Apex Ultra kit, found it for £151 rather than £162 sorry ocuk :(

Any views on gpu block?

Thank god! It'll run rings round yer original list tbh.

No real discernible difference between them in terms of performance. Take yer pick from MP01, Maze4GPU, MCW60, or one of EK's full coverblocks. Preference goes to the MCW60 with MC14 ramsinks - may as well keep it all Swiftech for sake of having a matching kit which is more likely to sell should the time come.
