Why do these have different lengths on the blocks but both are described as 'full length''?

It's just an aesthetic thing for those that like the block to literally cover the entire card.

Look on the underside and you can see that the actual cooling plate is the same on both.

What Petey said. They are described as FC (full cover) and they cover memory/GPU/VRM's and one will cover the whole card and the other will just cover all the important bits.

Agreed. I have the clear stumpy block and it does look good still.

Yeah I'm going to go for that style as well, as I'm getting blue coolant, I want to see it in the blocks. Simple copper for me.
