ATM i have an i7 3770k @ 4.4, MSI Z77 Mpower mobo, 2 titans in sli.

I want to get into water cooling, i did post a few weeks ago but i knew i was upgrading my cards so held off.

What i'm wondering is, is it worth it to water cool what i have now or upgrade the CPU n mobo now? Because i know once i have water cooled my system, 6 months down the line i may have to upgrade.

My CPU is lapped and De-lidded so it's out of warranty anyway. Also my motherboard has had all the stickers removed and parts painted white.

Cheers for any info. :)

You won't have to upgrade your system for a while. Two Titans and a 3770k will keep you going for a good couple of years at least.

Watercool away ;)

One nice thing I found with water cooling is the majority of the kit required is hardware agnostic e.g. pumps, radiators, tubing etc... So whilst the initial investment can be quite high, you'll never need to replace it (if that makes sense)

The EK CPU block I've got is compatible with most of the recent intel socket mounts (although I believe you need an height adapter for a delidded cpu)

The only thing that will be specific will be the GPU waterblocks (I've got a pair of Titans with 780ti blocks on at the moment)

So yeah... go for it :)

Lol, worst willy waving thread ever. ;)

I'm still considering getting my 2500K under water. :p

Or grab a used x79 mobo and 3930k theres both on the mm now! Plenty of power to let the titans stretch there legs!

Some say overkill, but so are 2 titans! ;)

Hmm, how much more performance over a 3770k that's at 4.4?

Tough/impossible question. It all depends in what your using it for.

Though saying that more CPU power (which that offers) will allow your titans to breathe, that's if your 3770k is bottleneck them a little (which is a likely case)

Mainly gaming @ 2560 x 1440 and now getting more competitive in the benching tests :p
