Watercooled Case Gallery

Hi, I have this Pump/Block, what is this mod you speak of?

This is it. Fairly easy if you're happy to do some soldering.

Have you found that this has helped your temps? Do you use this as a block as well or just a pump?

I couldn't say for sure as it was a completely fresh build with different rads and gpu block. My gut feeling is that it's better. It's definitely noisier and I think that's mostly because the pump can't be AV mounted.

The only way to know for sure is to try it in the same set up.......let me know how you get on!! :p

And yes, I use it as pump and block.

Have you ever had it leak? I had mine for about 2 months and the block itself started leaking, it developed a crack.
But had it RMA'd and for about 4 months now no leaks fingers crossed!

Yeah, I've heard that some people have had trouble with them leaking and I'm not surprised. You have to very careful when you change the bases, for either AMD or Intel, not to over tighten the screws or it could crack. The screws are self tapping into the port body as well which makes it a little trickier to judge the tightness. There are some rather thin sections to those bases that are a bit of a design flaw really.

If you do the 18w mod you don't have to worry about the base and I actually did mine while it was in situ. You undo the four allen bolts on the top (they're imperial NOT metric) and lift off the motor. Note the O-ring in between the port body and the motor, this must go back correctly or a leak will occur. Slide the motor out of the plastic lid and you will see the motor as shown in the photo I posted earlier. When you put it back together be careful not to over tighten the bolts and of course power the motor and check for leaks before turning on the PC.

Cheers! :)

A big thanks to yourself and everyone else in this section that got me this far. First solo build, overclock and watercooling in the past 4 months. :)

I took ages painting the OCZ ram cooler after seeing your tigerstyle one, you know well the pain of painting that and keeping the holes free, only to discover it didn't fit due to the dominator heatspreaders. SKILLS! Should have checked if it fitted first.Haha! It's just as well I hadn't sanded it down again and done the Imperial one before I checked.

All in all it's been a learning experience so I'm just glad I can relax now. :)
MATE, wow  Looks class, glad all that hard work has paid off....well done :D

Would get photos of mine up but its a bit of a shambles at the moment! New power supply thats not had cables tidied up properly yet, RMAing my graphics card and thats making me put off fitting my new bay res as I might as well fit it at the same time as the GPU waterblock. Plus with the graphics card in, the current location of the rad at the bottom/front doesnt work well so that needs relocating as well!! haha, overall quite a bit of work to do this next week or 2!

On another note, purple coolant looks smart!! Dont see it all that often

Will hopefully have pics of mine up soon. Just waiting on a rad to be delivered and then a free day to remove the shambolic setup I have now and assemble and test the new one.
