Watercooled CPU - With a twist

Not sure if this should go here on in the CPU section but I came across an interesting arctical on the BBC and didn't see it posted anywhere.

Will be interesting to see how far they can take CPU's if this idea works out. I hope it doesn't leak though :eek:

Bet they would be expensive he he

I reckon for now the chippers (intel etc) are likely to leave well alone and let the user have to manage heat, that's up until they have to step in due to heat/energy problems

Interesting, but won't they need absolutely massive pressure to do that if the channels are 50 microns across?

Could this not be achieved by suction rather than trying to push the liquid through? Either that or be done through convection (not sure if that is the right word or not) so the hot water is encouraged to move up whilst the cooler water sinks

Maybe they could plant a tree above it and let capillary action suck the water through. Good for the environment as well.

Kinda like a very old open fire with a back boiler but no pump

As the fire heats the backbox the heated water is hottest at the top so this starts rising in a circuit then being in a loop as such the rising hot water then draws cooler water in and around the circuit it goes

I thought it was mm not micron !!! i had no sleep i'm ill (my excuse lol)
