Looking at upgrading my rig over the next couple of weeks. I will be keeping a few items from my current rig, but would just like to double check that I've got everything etc

So the hardware I'm keeping is

AMD Phenom 9600BE
Abit AX78 MB
OCZ Gamexstream 700W PSU
2 Sata HDDs
internal TV Tuner Card

I'm looking at getting the following

I've never watercooled a system before, but I've spent ages looking through this forum reading up on it. I'm pretty confident on actually plugging it all in etc.

I'm just a little concerned about how I'm going to fit the rad, I'm not bothered if its internal or external. I just don't want to have to mod the case in any way. So advise on that would be nice.

Will I need anything else, such as cables, molex converters to fit the case fans to the fan controller etc?

My Budget for the upgrade is £700-£800 including VAT & delivery & the final rig will be overclocked & used primarily for games, although I'm not hugely concerned with being able to run things like crysis on very high etc. I'd just like to have a rig that will last a couple of years with minimal upgrades in that time.

Thanks in advance for any help & advice,

Raz

Hi there mate

I will double check if the triple rad fits the 1200 case tomorrow at work, cant remember if it does or not-almost certain that it does though.

I've seen on the 1200 thread in the cases section that it does fit inside. I'm just not sure if it will fit in with the ammount of bays I'll be using for drives etc, so if you could check that for me it would be most appreciated.

& I'll have a look at the 4870 prices. didn't realise the diff was only £20, so thanks for the heads up

cheers for that.

Guess it will have to be externally monuted then. I spent a bit of time working out what I'll need to fit it externally & am pretty sure I know how I'm going to do it.

I'll do a run through of whats in my basket & how I plan to fit it all together tonight & get ordering

ok so I've decided to drop the water cooling option for now & have just placed an order for the case, graphics card & bits & bobs.

I will get the wc stuff, but think I'd be better off getting it built overclocked & stable before I add it in. I'm sure trying to do too much at once will mean I come unstuck with something.

Thanks for the help though, much appreciated
