The closest I've ever been to WC'ing is my H100i.

I have NO knowledge of it and have never really been interested in it.

As my cards are such good clockers I was wondering if it would be worth going down the WC route on them ( as there isn't anything worth upgrading to atm) and my 5930.

What costs are involved?

Is second hand viable?

Will I get a much higher clock rate/lower temps on my 5930k with a custom loop?

My cards atm moment vent heat up on to my h100i tubes warming them up :(

Advise me your grace.

Depends if your cards are reference pcb or not. If they are 2x full cover blocks at £50 each (Aquacomputer), £50-60 for a pump, then a res or pump top as well, £35+ each for a radiator or two, £26+ for a cpu block then your tubing, fittings, fluid etc. I doubt if you would see much, if any change from £300.

You may or may not get a better overclock (you are still going to be limited by voltage) but you will get lower temps, especially on the gpu's. Second hand is definately a route to consider and some good bargains can be picked up.

hi I have a gtx780 under water boosts to 1202mhz on the core idles at 20-23 max I have seen it get to after hours of gaming is 38. I think it was worth it

My cards are the DCUII 780's
These ones.

You may be able to find a block for them but DCUII's are notoriously hard to find blocks for (I should know, EK was the only one who ever made blocks for my DCUII's)

Otherwise you would have to go with universal block and ram passive heatsinks

what temp do you get to now on the cards?

Looks like if you still want to watercool you are looking at universal blocks such as the EK Thermospere. They are good blocks and are basically a gpu variant of the EK Supremacy cpu block. The only problem is that you need to be creative when it comes to the vrm's. I have a Thermosphere on my 780 FTWand my load temps are around the low-mid 30's. I bought a copper 1u cooler on the bay for less than a tenner and adapted it to cover my vrms to get them under control. I have ramsinks on the memory but they barely get warm anyway.

I found a 780 block specifically for your card for £66. However it's a competitor site so I cannot link it.

2nd hand is viable and often 2nd hand watercooling stuff sells for dirt cheap as there is such little demand for it.

I find that watercooling my CPU doesn't offer a huge advantage over high end alternatives like your H100i or my old NH-D14 however I only have a 2550K. But if the loop is already there you only have to get a CPU block (from £30) and a couple of £3 fittings and it's in.

Bout 60-65 in games, but I either want to WC or get some blower cards.
Tbh those are excellent temps for games. Got a pair of gb windforce 780's here on air cooling, bottom one never go's over 65c. But the top one ive seen as high as 85c, usually in the mid 70's. Both at stock.

Picked up a used ek fc block and backplate for £28inc from the forums. Doubt you will get one for your card though. I'm changing to a reference card as not willing to blow £100 for a new windforce block.

It might be financially favourable to sell your DCII's and pick up a pair of reference cards 2nd hand. Quite a lot do get sold with blocks.

If I was to sell them I'd just go with ref 980ti's

This is if I don't sell, they clock to 1304 on air so I wonder how good they'd be on water

Mine only gets to 1240ish at 1.212v. But I am happy with what I have got and Skyn3t bios is so much better than the stock one.
