Hey guys

Could someone please help me spec the cheapest possible water cooling solution for 4 x 6950's,

Ive read a few tutorials about watercooling, but, as far as I understand I need a pump, and 4 waterblocks, and a resevoir?

What's the cheapest watercooling setup these days?

You will need a pump, 4 blocks, a resovoir and a 480 radiator along with 4 good fans and some tubing/fittings

You will be looking at the fat end of 600 quid to watercool all of that :)

As above, thats not gonna be cheap to watercool, as the components needed will have to be of high quality, especially the pump and Rad/rads..

Your best bet would be to post what sort of budget you have, or are happy to spend, that way the more experienced water coolers will be able to help ya out.

Black Ice SR-1 480 Radiator £94.99
EK Water Blocks EK-FC6970 Acetal £60.43 X4
12V Laing D5 Vario Pump (Swiftech MCP655) £72.99
XSPC Acrylic Tank Reservoir for Laing D5 (MCP655) £29.78
Total £538.16

Thats without barbs, tubing, and other sundries.. so as u can see its not gonna be cheap, that was just a quick spec, to show the sorta costs involved for what your wanting to do, as 23JMZ07 said, your looking at close or just over £600 all said and done.

You're going to end up spending around £650 if you do everything properly. What case do you have? Are you cooling the CPU aswell?

i dont know much about watercooling, but surely several smaller rads would be better for cooling than one big one, because the water that has been heated up by the first three cards will have to cool down the 4th one as well.

also, not many cases can fit a 480 rad.

ok a little bit off topic.. but wot u want to spend on cooling u could build my pc for... in sig...

and i can play crysis 1 on 1440X1050 on max settings and get 35-50 fps lol
this is on a 22" widescreen

MagiCool XTREME QUAD 480 Long Radiator + 4x 120 AKASA,

Type that in ebay and you have a decent 480 rad with 4 fans too for about £70.

Get the EK DCP 2.2 and res for £50.

4x 6950 blocks for £240.

£20-£30 for cheap fittings and tubing etc.

£50-60 for the fancy EK sli bridge set or £13.50 for different sli links.

So cheapest I can think of is about £420 - £450. May not be the absolute best performing loop but it will be sufficient in keeping cool and quiet.

Most of them are competitor links but can trust you the links if its within budget.

You dont need full cover blocks you could get the mcw 60 there cheaper.

But if you got the money for 4 cards your dont want to be getting a cheap kit for cooling them or you might as well not bother
