Hi guys,
new member here so be nice :p

Putting together a new system consisting of :

Asus Rampage 3 extreme socket x58
i7 930 processor
Coolermaster HAF 912 case

are there any recommendations on a complete water cooling kit to get for this, and if so will it fit the case etc?

I'm a bit new to the watercooling scene, but have been building systems for a few years,
Currently running :

BFG 680 SLi Board
E6750 Core 2 Duo
Artic Freezer Pro 7
BFG 8800 GTXOC
4 GB DDR2 PC 5400 Ram

Thanks in advance,
Andy

What are you looking at watercooling? Just i7, i7 and motherboard or will there be a graphics card in there too?

hey guys,

defo the i7,what part of the mobo is watercoolable?the north bridge?
and i'm going to get a high end 4xx series card, just waiting a couple of weeks for a Asus card to come on offer, but any advice on whether the 460,470 or 480 should be watercooled would be appreciated.

Read through some of those links thanks :D

Budget, well i don't really have one (not to sound big headed or anything)

My other question is are the sealed units better to buy?
Just concerned on Water leaks destroying my build tbh :D

I agree with Nath, 7/16 masterkleer is a treat to use on 1/2" barbs. Don't worry about leaks, if you use that tubing/barb combination, then you shouldn't have any ;) Also that's the point of a leak test, to spot any leaks. I wouldn't get a sealed unit. You only get the very best performance from assembling your own kit.

If you're new to watercooling, there's a lot of guides available on the internet, use google and you'll get a whole load of them. If you still have questions, just ask on here, and someone will help you out :)

Sorry to drag up an old thread and all but i'm finally looking around at doing this.
I went for a i7 920 in the end,its running stock speeds at the minute but the motherboard is set on automatic cpu level up.

I am currently running two Asus 460 gtx 775mhz 1gb gddr5 sli'd.are these worth adding in to a watercooling loop? What size pump would you neeed to watercool the motherboard, cpu and two graphics cards?
Thanks :)

The cards may be fine for games right now but as for whether its worth including them to the loop is up to you. IMO they are not for a number of reasons:

The cards, though still running games fine, are outdated in terms of release and so the EK waterblock that would fit them are no longer in production. It will cost you time and money to track them down and for little in terms of performance gain. You can go with a universal block, but still if you plan on buying 2 universal blocks with fittings to go in your loop, you will have to make the radiator in your loop suit the extra heat introduced. I don't know if the RAM on the card will be fine if you just watercool the GPU core. With your 2 GPU blocks and a CPU block, you would want a half decent pump to push your coolant through all those shiny expensive waterblocks.

Overall, i think watercooling those cards NOW would be more costly and way way less beneficial than if you were to have done it a while back when the blocks were still for sale and there weren't considerable GPU upgrades available for a reasonable price. For this reason i would suggest that if you are fine with those cards (which im pretty sure can handle any game on a normal set up with ease), keep the cards and don't watercool them.

If you really want a watercooled GPU, sell the cards and buy something like a single ATI 7950 (or the ndvidia equivalent if you prefer) with a full cover block, giving you a little upgrade from the 460's and further room to upgrade to SLI/xfire in the future.
