Hey guys im looking into watercooling my system what do you think to this watercooling kit?

http://www.xspc.biz/rasa750rs240kit.php

How good do you think this would be compared to the h70? or do you think i should create a custom loop?

Also i have a coolermaster cm690 II advanced case that only has room for dual radiators so is there anyway that i could mount a triple or quad radiator externally as my case has water cooling gromits at the back?

Thanks a lot in advance! :)

There are hundreds of threads similar to this. The advice people give is always the same.

A pre built kit can sometimes be a good introduction to watercooling. But it's often not much better than air cooling. Custom water offers the best performance. The downside is that custom water requires a lot more understanding than kits. You need to do lots of reading and start to understand what you're getting into.

You could mount the rad on the back of your case, but if you're a beginner to watercooling, then I wouldn't recommend venturing into anything that necessitates a quad rad. If you have any more questions, post them and people will help you :)

I agree with all of this.

That being said, that kit is not bad.

The best way to do it is to go for a custom kit, those xspc ones aren't bad though. If you are thinking of getting into watercooling just read up for ages until you are sure you want to do it and have a good understanding of what is deemed as good in the world of watercooling.

I did this a few months ago and went for a custom kit for my first water build:

Swiftech MCR-320 triple radiator mounted on the back of my case with a radbox
EK Supreme LT cpu block
EK 4870 gpu water block
XSPC 750 dual bay res/pump

Very happy with it and glad I took the plunge, I must have spent days/weeks reading up to make sure I understood what I was doing before actually going ahead with it.

The rasa cpu block is very good, the pump/bayres is a medium range setup well suited to that kit that will also handle a gpu block as well. The RS thin radiators are one of the best thin rads out there but need faster(noisier) fans often to perform as well as a thicker radiator.

If I was you I would take that spec and get an XSPC RX240 instead as this will give you better performance with quieter fans.

Yes you could mount a radiator on the back on the outside, depends on what you want to cool as to whether you need a triple or quad radiator.

With that case you could also mount one dual in the top as planned, plus a single radiator in the front, or even better an extra dual in the bottom. :) I prefer to try and keep the rads in the case whenever possible.

As said depends what you want to cool.

thank you everyone for your thoughts and advice its really appreciated :).

I need to cool an OC'd phenom 2 955 @ 3.7 and crossfire 4850s (that do chuck out quite a bit of heat :(). I think i will get the kit that i linked just for the cpu for now then add another dual radiator to the case as there is enough room for 2 dual radiator inside the case to cool the 2 4850's do this sound reasonable?

Thanks

Having had that bayres I'd say it can handle a dual rad, rasa block and a EK fullcover gpu block, but two blocks and an extra rad? Not sure. It is rated at 750lph but.. itd be worth a try I guess :)
