All,
put my rig together on air to test components whilst I am waiting for the water blocks.

So i have a couple of questions I need answering please.

1/ I am going to be using Mayhem's pre-mixed liquid, but do i need to add anything extra to stop algae or anything?
2/ I have two EVGA 780ti cards and have ordered EK water blocks for them. I have never fitted VGA blocks and it is concerning me.

Is this hard to do and will it affect my warranty...I could screw nearly £1000 if i mess this up !!

regards
Ian

1. Mayhems pre-mixed fluid come with all the addtives and its a complete product.
2. Evga warranty allows watercooling. If you do everything properly, step by step, you can't go wrong. Hint: don't overighten any screws/fittings :-)
3. Don't rush. Building a custom loop takes time. Remember to build it in clean environment and best to use gloves to prevent and damage from static - you can get latex gloves in pharmacy.
And watch some guides on youtube. I have seen a few good ones.

Just to add to the above, an anti static wristband or mat may be a better option than gloves. I always found that gloves were more of an irritation than a help personally.

Having said that, as long as you earth yourself before you start work i.e. touch a radiator or other metal object, you should be fine anyway.

Bart covered everything else already.

Couple of things you may already know but worth mentioning anyway.

Always rinse out new radiators as they often have crap inside them that you don't want ending up in your blocks. I just fill with tap water slosh around a few times and empty. Do this about 10 times, then maybe final rinse with dionised water at end.

When filling and first running your loop, use a spare/ external power supply to power your pump so if you have a leak non of your components are going to go pop (need to short two pins on atx connector for it to power up, lots of guides online). Also cover components underneath fittings etc with paper towels, partially to help protect them if you do get a leak, but also just to help you spot water drops.

Hi, just take your time when fitting the blocks using EK FC blocks my self see sig, read the instructions before you start.

Do it in stages say-
1-strip a GPU'S, then check its done right.

2- Cut Themal Pads to Size.

3-Fit main blocks do 1 at a time and check all pads + tim is on before you actuallly fit it.

4-fit backplates.

Get your self a good set of screw drivers don't use cheap ones, as the screw driver tip can be to soft damaging it causing it to slip thus causing damage to GPU its self..

Always tighting the screw slightly before you un-screw it as there might be locking paste or the screw sometimes grabs to the screw wall making it hard to un-screw.

Note Plz When Screwing > LEFTY LOOSY / RIGHTY TIGHTY.:D

I spray my screws with furniture polish[lubricate] on a bit of kitchen roll, when building case's + blocks making it far easier to screw in and out especially screwing into plastic's, etc.

No need to wear latx gloves[kinky] as long as you keep your work area tidy have a coulpe of plastic contianets for keeping screws when taking GPU'S apart so you can bag them when finished, just touch a rad or your case now and again while you work to reduce statcc building up.

If possable pre-fill your loop as much as you can as this helps bleeding, l prefer a external rad as its easier alround fitting, maintaining, cheaper and better temps.

Take your time,
Oldphart.:)

I suggest watch a video of installing waterblocks on the GPU, it helped me a lot when I was installing mine. There are lots of videos installing waterblocks on 780/Titan/780 Ti's on YouTube.
