Hi all, I've basically planned out my PC upgrade and ive decided to go deep into watercooling this time and I want to do it right so that I wont be changing it again a few months down the line. Im looking to buy two 980's to pair with my 3550k CPU and the only case/watercooling things ive decided on is I will be buying an Ehthoo Luxe and i'd really like to use the D5 Photon Res/Pump combo if possible just because it looks so good and it seems more convenient having them in one, but any help/tips on that would be greatly appreciated

Essentially I want the PC being as silent as possible so big rads/quiet fans and I know a lot of people say price isn't an issue but im willing to spend more than the normal to get a premium watercooling setup going that I can be happy with for a couple of years at least, I only have basic watercooling component knowledge though so any help would be greaaatly appreciated, thank you :)

Yeh ive already decided to jump to the Primo, but im not sure what I can fit in etc with two 980's in there, would a pump+res combo still fit in it comfortably? I am still researching it myself too of course :)

You'd be fine with a Luxe as dual card setups usually only require 360/240.

However, since you want it as quiet as possible, fitting a couple of bigger rads in a Primo would let you run even lower fan speeds and coupled with the low heat output of 980's, you'd have a lot of overhead there.

This doesnt include any tubing or fittings so you can add another £50 or so for that and then your liquid like mayhems ultra pure water and biocide/kill coils. If you want coloured setup please use coloured tubing and not dyes. More consistent and no staining with tubing but in the end its your call. :)

Hope this helps.

That is looking very tasty! :) any particular reason you've gone for those fans? they don't have any reviews and I cant find any videos etc of them so just wondered if they're a forum highly recommended one? :) thank you

Have a read through some of this thread it will explain my reasoning. Get them on a pmw controlled fan controller and they are as load or as quiet as you want them to be.

Forgot about the bundle offer

so that saves you another £8 :)

I've done full crossfire loops in both the Primo, and the Luxe, if you want the Photon to fit in the Luxe, you will have to sacrifice the rear fan, and then you can only get the 170 in there, that is the only limiting factor with the Luxe is the res placement. as for the Primo the only thing might be the length of the graphics card you might have to either remove the top plate of the res bracket or cut a notch into it. Other than that there is tons of room.

Remove the top plate of the res bracket? what do you mean? I didnt know any of the plates were removable but I have heard about maybe having to cut a notch into it yeh, ive yet to 100% find out if it will fully fit yet, im still looking it up with the reference 980 PCB length :)
