watercooling coolant

more expensive coolant being what exactly?
cooling liquid used in water cooling kits. i wasnt sure if you could get different types of coolant and the more expensive would give you better temperture readings. but after i posted this thread ive seen in the shop that all the coolant is the same price so ive answered my own question really

No it rarely improves cooling properties as water already has exceptional abilities in that regard. What the additives can do is prevent algae growth and delay/stop galvanic corrosion if you have mixed metals (aluminium and copper) in your loop.

prob a silly question but the more expensive coolant does it improve tempertures?

If you mean more expensive as in something like 'Feser One' then no it doesnt improve cooling but as its non conductive it can save your rig in the case of a bad leak.

Feser One will still kill your hardware if it leaks as it's only non conductive when wet. Once it dries it'll leave a residue in places where you can't reach.

rather than will
And how is that any different to distilled water?

I've had hoses completely detach from barbs dousing components in water and everything has still worked afterwards once it's been dried off.

The only benefit of Feser One in this respect is you can run components submerged, but how many people actually do that?

Hey, im only trying to add a little clarity to the opening questions.

I was asking if something like Feser is what he meant.
Im saying that non conductive coolant can save the system rather than it will save the system. At no point did i say it is any better than any other non conductive product.
