Watercooling, does this look ok?

It's my birthday soon and I've decided to watercool.

I have a Antec Eclise case, so have a bit of spair room in there. Got to say the air flow is pretty crap in my case so was hoping to reduce temps a fair bit with an external rad mounted on the back of the case.

Iam just going to cool the cpu for now and want some head room to do the gfx card maybe at a later date.

My budget is £150.00.

This is what I came up with (not had a lot of choice as most products is out of stock).

I realise I havent got any coolant in my list, a friend suggested just making my own with deoinised water and coolant which I can get foc from work :)

I assume I have picked the right size hose/hose tails, kept reading about not having to use jubilee clips and I have two fans on m current HSF which I will put on the rad.

Should be fine. Why do you need two metres of piping though? 1 should be enough. And what fluid are you using? Tbh, on that budget i would add another rad.

i was going to go with that exact setup just dont 4get the coolant ! i think im going with the corsair h50 now though got told watercooling was *dodgy* dident quite understand that but meh :)

Then you could attach the two 120mm rads to your front and rear fans... not ideal, but it would work. You could just get one if you like and put it at the rear, so you're not pumping hot air into your system.

Use MM and don't get that pump.

£150inc should get you a really nice single block loop - lots of quality parts available recently.
Edit: if just the cpu the H50 is a good into to watercooling - save you a few pennies as well.

Picking up a secondhand zalman reservator 2 is also an option (res1 are not ideal for quads at load)
Quiet, cool and ideal with a poor airflow case.

Instead of getting 2 x rads wouldn't it be better to get a P120.3? oh and i want the tubing that I don't have to use clips on, read a thread before where someone mentioned dipping the tubing in hot water then letting it cool of the hose tail.

Would I be better getting a seperate res and pump if that pump isn't upto the job then?

Always get more tubing than you need.

For the price, why not.

Dek DB-1 pump is a better choice for a small loop - that and a clear bay res shouldn't be much more cash that the xspc 200 new. But the swiftech micro res is so much better that a bay res if spliting pump and res.

Failing that a DDC pro (10w) with a res top (XSPC is best) is next step up.
more power (and noise) but a great pump with high resale value and will power a duel block loop with ease.
You'll need a second hand one to say in budget.

The XSPC 450 is an option but 35inc will get you an MM DDC-pro with top

This is what I do, and it provides a very tight seal. You use 7/16 tubing over 1/2 barbs. It isn't infallible though, so I use clips as well except on the CPU block where it would look messy. It's up to you whether you think it's worth it or not.

What kind of case do you have? Is it an Akasa Eclipse?

If so, then for about £20 you can buy the Omega roof panel that takes a 240mm radiator. It's a straight swap and no cutting involved.
