I am about to upgrade my PC, and am looking to watercool my HDD alongside my GFx and CPU (and perhaps also my northbridge).

From the point of view of:

1) best cooling flow, and

2) least tangle in the case, and

3) any other relevant points that come to mind...

could i have some advice on what order i should cool the compnents please?

The cooling tubes come in and go out through a PCI slot (the rig in sig - bar the HDDs and a different mobo thats goin in).

Cheers,

M

Why do u want to watercool the HDD and chipset? They really aren't worth watercooling in most circumstance.

Well - my present mobo chipset runs over 50degrees as i run without any fans in my case, so i expect the new mobo to be similar. I think this is a tad toasty.

I had my HDD in a silentMAXX enclosure, but it was hitting 55degrees and i took it out - however its now the noisiest thing in my rig. I've got an alphacool HDD water cooler, so if i bang it in, it'll reduce the noise again. I'll need to watercool it to keep the temps ok tho.

google for article called "Myths of Watercooling". Flow order is irrelevant - go with order for piping convenience... only necessity is res before pump, preferably higher than pump, purely for convenience when filling.
