I have the Thermaltake big water. i was wondering would this do an ok job to cool the conroe E6600. im upgrading soon to this chip along with the gigabyte ds3. At the moment it cools my P4 northwood. I was just wondering would it do the same for the conroe.

suggestions appreciated.

TT BigWater is no better than aircooling, only with more hassle. Go back to air or get real watercooling.

But yes, seeing as Conroes have about 65W TDP compared to the 120W of top-of-the-line AMDs and 160W+ of duallie PresHOTs, it'll cope just as well (badly) as it did on your previous rig.

badly?? u saying that this cooling is no good for a conroe?

Creidiki is saying:

1. That the Big Water will cool your Conroe fine as it gives out roughly half the heat of an old P4.

2. The TT bigwater (like many 'all in one' watercooling kits) offers pretty bad cooling in general esp compared to good aircoolers.

So, i think he was suggesting (as would I) that you either get a much better watercooling setup (custom kit or a Swiftech) or you get a good aircooler that will do a better job of cooling your Conroe than your TT. ;)

So.. what would actually be better for maximum overclock of a Conroe 6600

TT Big water or Scythe Ninja ??

Scythe Ninja would use less power wouldnt it?
