first time with watercooling ever so this should be fun.

ok ive got a htpc nes that ive been working on and its going to be as stock look as i can get it. now back in 2011 for a coolmaster case comp a guy was making an nes with watercooking but never finished. i would like to have a go at this myself and was going to use a X2O 450 Pump with Acrylic Reservoir and also wanted to know if a Magicool Dual 40x2 MINI Radiator would be able to cool an Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz and a Sapphire HD 7750 Low Profile Edition 1024MB GDDR5 and also would i be able to do a push pull on this small radiator as my only venting for heat is from the top vent in the case so thats where i would mount it.

any advice on parts to save room or parts that are better would be great.

thanks

if you after tight spacing and tiny tubing to keep it all small you need to think out of the box. E.g John Guest push pull fittings 3/8th tubing, small pump and res, low profile rad.

I'm 99% sure I saw a fully complete watercooled NES build on reddit a few weeks ago, I'll try fish it out as the guy gave some info on what parts he used.

Edit: struggling to find the source link, but iirc it was using a locked i5, mini-ITX board cooled via a pair of 40 or 80mm radiators.

lol I opened this thread expecting to see pictures of a watercooled nintendo entertainment system... cant deny I'm a little dissapointed.

On topic, while that magicool radiator would probably fit, I don't think it would cool the 3570k, which already runs pretty hot, and a graphics card, not that that card produces much heat really. I suppose if you didn't overclock then you might get away with it, although I would be tempted to go with the 2500k as it runs much cooler naturally and is almost the same performance wise.

in reply to mlwood37 ye good advice thats what im after any idea on what parts?

in reply to blusky sadly ive already got the 3570k i think my brother has the 2500 not the 2500k would that run a lot cooler? also nothing will be overclocked and ill need to check space but i think i could get away with a biger rad like Magicool XTREME DUAL 160 Radiator or maybe if you know some place that can make custom rads to order?

in reply to rossi dont worry i will have some photos once its done and a video ive already taken photos of the build so far and just need to sort the cooling out now then its all done so keep an eye out :]

thanks for your help so far people

in reply to brianb nes means Nintendo Entertainment System and im not cooling an nes just a pc inside of the case as the nes parts have been removed.
