Watercooling GPU alone?

You can use water cooling to cool what ever components you require. You could go for multiple loops if wanted to.

I use a triple rad to cool my cpu and GPU.

rubbish, you can effectively cool a cpu and gpu on a 120.1 depending on the rad and the hardware so a double rad is fine.

A wolfdale cpu, GTX260 and a thermochill PA120.1 would be absolutely fine.

A QX9770 and a GTX295 on a black ice pro 120.1 is a totally different story.

For reference I had an old stepping E6700 on a single PA120.1 and a 7950GX2 in a separate loop on another PA120.1 and both were perfectly fine with plenty of temp headroom.

Right now I have a Q6600, GTX280 and chipset on a 120.3 and it can run passively.

Basically its very easy to overstate the amount of rad space you need, all I'd say putting GFX and CPU on a 120.1 would be make sure its a thermochill PA rad or maybe a feser xchanger although I don't know if they do a single rad, and consider having fans in push pull.

Having both on a 120.2 is fine, swiftech even sell a kit designed to do it ffs!

Thanks for the input guys. I was thinking about getting a 4870X2 but I know about the heat and noise issues with the stock cooling. I have never watercooled before but I think I can manage it. Is there an existing thread that explains what to parts to get and a brief overview on how to complete the setup, if not can someone explain please.

Thanks in advance
