I have always avoided the use of Elbow's, In-line t-s and anything else to make the loop Easier to build, this is due to a lot of my friends on another site claiming the use of Elbows and any other solid doodar's cause flow restriction and decrease the flow rates etc.
What are your two cents?
 
Don't worry about t's, bays and elbows as mentioned above there is minimal difference to be gained/lost - use what ever makes builidng your loop more logical and convenient to install - a well thought out design and common sense are your best friends here.

Furthermore, don't worry! You're bound to come across a compromise at some point, go for what feels right. In retrospect you'll look back at your initial loop and go 'ah..i could have done that better!' but save it for the next time you break it down and rebuild!

well i have none i either of my loops, but my new one... im going to MOSFET cool... thus being my only desire for them, to hold back on kinky pipes.
 
agreed, i just didnt want to spend weeks on my new build design to find myself in the wrong, what are the best bits to use?
 
As in a particular brand? Personally if we're talking barbs and (rotary) elbows etc - i'd go for the cheapest possible, if you want the bling aspect obviously bitspower or of that elk will be more expensive.

Compression fittings are popular, normal barbs types are perfectly fine too.
 
Agree with rjkoneill above - but not all 45's and 90's are created equal.
Rounded curves are better that angled units.
Tube coils are less expensive and acheive the same result with 3-4 inch curves (but not a purest look)
If you are going to use them bitspower or koolance are the ones to get.
and rotary 45's are a must - as you want it to point the right way.

In theory a 45 increased resistance is off set by the shorter tube length.
If each 'quality' 45 save you 3inchs of tube or more it's worth it.
If each 90 save you 10inchs of tube or more it's worth it.

Makes sense... i will look into the Bitspower products now.

I am holding out for the Rampage III, the mosfet points on that, anyone know if its going to match the Rampage II?
 
How much narrower are the id of these 45 degree rotary connectors compared to a 1/2" high flow barb? Just wondering as i had a Zalman gpu block with 90 degree swivel fittings and due to the swivel bit the id was only 3mm compared to the 8mm at the inlet of the barb.
 
good point rasied on the ID of the 90 / 45.

I like to use 1/2" hardware with 3/8" hose so. so the last thing i want is to have some poor ID"
 
The curved bitspower 45 are surposed to be around +9.5mm continous ID.
but I've never owned any to confirmed that.

I've had the old koolance 45's (angle) and they about 6mm
the new ones are around +8mm ID I beleive

the best 1/2 highflow are 10.1mm ID
