watercooling help!

hi, need some help please with tube sizes, barbs or compression fittings pros and cons and sizes. could any one do me a basket with the right gear. i really like the look of the compression fittings.
at the moment i only have the dcc 1t pump with Alphacool top res but will be getting the rest as soon as I decide what I want. Thanks

So I started to build my 7970 watercooling setup and it seems like the tubing is too large, I cant screw the compression down without leaving 3mm or so space is that ok?

That's fine especially if then are EK compressions.
