Hi Guys,

I am looking for a watercooling kit or can you spec me the bits i need?

graphics cards is a xfx6950 i will probably be running two.
i have a antec df85 case
and a 2600k cpu with a slight overclock.

the cpu i currently have a h70 on but would probably be better making a whole new system and including the cpu?

any help apriciated

Cheers
Ross

I don't think you can get a 'kit' as such for graphics cards, unless you include CoolIT Omni ALC solution which doesn't seem to be updated for the newer cards.

You'd need all the gubbins (res/pump/tubing/rads/fixtures) for a watercooling loop plus some full cover 6970 waterblocks for the 6950s. This assuming that the XFX6950s are reference. You can also go GPU only waterblock and cool the VRM/RAM with heatsinks.

I'd probably ditch the H70 too as it's not comparable to a proper water cooling loop.

If it's reference it'll have the usual twin slot 'blower' fan and the dual bios switch and be the 2gb model. Non reference may have a different PCB, cooler and no bios switch. If it's the 1gb model then I'm not sure if watercopling full cover blocks exist.

There are 6950/6970 reference PCB images available to compare you card against as well if you are unsure.

Afaik the xfx 2gb are reference but I've not spent time confirming this as I have an Asus 2gb reference, or at least it was before I changed the cooler.

Have a look at the link in my sig.

IIRC, all XFX 2gb 6970's are reference.

You'll need a reservoir, a pump, GPU block, CPU block and tubing etc.
You can mount a 240 rad at the top but i don't think 240 will be enough to cool two cards and a CPU.

i think the fans are 140. would a 280 be enough? do i have other options?

sorry for the stupidity its just i am very new to watercooling

Anywhere else you can mount rads?
Try in the HDD cages. You can get a 240 in there vertically

theres a true mass of space in the hd cages as it takes somthing like 10 hard drives! will have a look

would a 280 be ok for cpu and one graphics card running triple monitor?

Maybe. Just do it properly first time. It will make it a LOT easier later
