Hey guys, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind having a quick spec check of my what I'm hopefully about to order.

It's came that time, I've splashed soo much cash on the build so far my reasoning is that I may aswell go the full hog and watercool!
Its going to be mounted in new case etc.
Cooling my Q6600 in my sig which runs rather cold! (46 degrees on load with Asus Silent Knight II AL)

Hoping in future to introduce a graphics card into the loop in future... But could be some time before that happens.

I know I've missed out the Tubing, because I'm currently not sure as to what size I want it to be... 7/16? I do want it to be rather thick. Any recomended brand?

As for Barbs, is 3/8 a good combination for this? Again, any recomended brand?

I really like the Koolance stuff but its rather expensive.

So what is everyones opinion on this and should I make any major adjustments?

Thanks :D

Cant comment on the block as Ive no idea about it, but I know some good ones are the Swiftech GTZ and the Heatkiller 3.0. Less money than the one you've listed, or for even less the EK supreme as well. But like I said, Ive no knowlage of the Koolance block sorry

As for tubing, 7/16" is good, fits on the barbs very tight and secure. However you'd want 1/2" barbs with it, 3/8" would be too small. Like I said, will be a tight fit so it helps to dip the tubing in some hot water first to soften it up. After its on its near enough impossible to pull off haha :p

Thanks for that, 1/2" barbs it is! Any specific type I should look for? I have litteraly no clue as to which is required!
XSPC Tubing any good?

I've had a look at other CPU Blocks, and I do prefer the Koolance, it's meant to be pretty efficient and looks like a quality product.

Just out of interest Ducky Spud, I had a look through you're build log. Very nice!
What blocks did you use on your board?

I've been tempted to stick the mosfets etc into the loop aswell as it looks much more impressive rather than the sinlge over CPU. Thanks!

The koolance block is very restrictive, so not good in a multi-block loop. Heatkiller 3.0 might be better.....but I don't think OCUK sell them :)

hey, the Heatkiller 3.0 certainly looks good and gets good write ups.
As for the Koolance being restrictive, what do you mean?

I'm slightly wet behind the ears when it comes to WC so sorry if I'm being slightly simple!

As for res, it was a toss up between the two XSPC, the one I posted and the one you mentioned. If you are recommending it then I will use that instead.
I have noticed a lot of people using that which covers the DDC, it looks pretty good, thanks.

The blocks I have for NB and mosfets are made by EK. Not available from OCUK, but the shop I got them from linked to a compatability table, showed which mosfet blocks fitted each motherboard. If you found that table you'll be fine :)

As for what barbs to get, I personally just use the cheapEK ones. They're nothing special, but with 7/16" tubing the fit is really tight so they do the job fine. Some people prefer compression fittings. I think they look better but are more expensive and can also cause little problems like twisting the tubing and such. Also think you need to match the outer diameter of the tubing (the normal 3/8, 7/16, 1/2 are internal diameter) to the fitting... may have to use 1/2" tubing to get it to fit the fittings properly. Personal preference really on that one
