as my g5 build is defiantly going ahead now i am looking at what wc options would be best for it :)

how dose this water cooling setup look?
i needs to be very quiet and the rad is limited to a duel rad in size.
was wondering how loud the pump is and what improvements can be made to the loop, also what fans would be best?
the loop will need to be able to cool a i7 920 at 4ghz min and a single high end single gpu

what do you guys think?

thanks

"cool" is a relative word. If you want quiet, you may have to accept temps that others would not. Focus on your primary goal and so long as the load temps are below the maximum for the chip, don't worry about temps. As for the fans, the RX240 would benefit from using 38mm fans so perhaps the Panasonic L1A or the 38mm Yate Loons.

they do seem to be a good option. do you know of anyone being able to cool a similar rig with that rad and what fan speeds you need to get? im guessing it will have to be 800-1200 rpm fans?

i was thinking if the black ice gt extreme 280 rad would be better? as a 140mm fan should be quieter for the same amount of air flow.
i have checked and it dose fit the case... just about will be a tight squeeze but if the extra cooling will mean a quieter pc im all up for it.
will this rad be much better and if so what fan would you recommend i know there is a much more limited selection for 140mm fans.

thanks :)

Yate loon also do 140mm fans but I've never seen a 38mm thick 140mm fan. One thing about water-cooling; there is no right option, there are lots of them. No-one can predict your specific requirements and what will work best for you. You will inevitably buy at least one part that you subsequently replace. If you want to be certain it's not the radiator, just makes it more likely to be the pump. Or the block.

If you want to be certain of everything, you need to change almost every part you've chosen and spend a lot more. Even then, it will only be "perfect" until something better comes along.

Don't think too much. JFDI!

Narrowed the choices of rads and pumps down to 2.
Stuck between the black ice 240GTX and the black ice SR-1 240
The sr-1 being better for sub 1000rpm fans, but as I haven’t water cooled in the past I don’t know if I will be able to use sub 1000rpm fans. There is a chance I can get a slim 240 rad in as well, I think if I can I will go for the sr-1 if not ill go for the GTX.

As for pumps its between the swiftech MCP350 and MCP355. I could always do for a dual pump top later if flow becomes a issue and the 355’s are supposedly quite loud.

Will a single MCP350 pump be able to give good flow for a duel pass thick 240rad a slim single pass 240rad and CPU and GPU block?

Would really appreciate some opinions on these :)
Thanks.
