Thinking about w/coling my main rig for some silly overclocking and a reduction in temps

was wondering instead of going to all the trouble of rads and sucking nasty warm water back through it whats to stop me connecting waterblocks directly to the mains supply?

benefits i see are , very cold (compared to your average water cooling loop
should flow at a good volume
and i dont have a water meter being in scotland

any problems with this

Very wasteful? going to need a reliable drain as well if your going to use it often. Sounds good as a one off but wouldn't want to have a permanent setup like that.

That ain't an excuse to use the mains ;). Even with our lovely soft water up here you wouldn't want to run it through CP/GPU cooling blocks for any length of time.

Trust me, just get a rad and have a nice closed loop system. You'd be surprised at just how much heat energy water can carry.
