Watercooling NOOB - quick question, GPU specific

I know nothing about water cooling. At all. But it's something I'm considering doing for a totally new build later this year. Possibly.

As part of that or rather instead of having to do a whole system, is there such a thing as being able to fit a self-contained watercooling thing to a GPU? To a Titan X for example.

ie can you buy something and fit it yourself, like you find in the prefitted AMD 295x2 or the newly released EVGA 980 hybrid like this https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-279-EA&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1812

I'm guessing not, but would be nice to hear it confirmed.

Look into the NZXT G10 for a universal solution or the Corsair HG10 if they make one for your GPU and have actually released it yet.

You can also build a custom loop for your GPU only.

Don't mess around bud and go the full shibang. The outlay isn't cheap but it is easy to do (take your time) and heat is never an issue.

Thanks Disco! Looks like there are things like that out there, which I genuinely wasn't aware of. Would be for a Titan X by the way. Looks like they do HG10's for titans and titan blacks so I prsume thye would fit a titan x? Or they'll release one if not.
Will look into it more, cheers again.

Yeah probably, cheers Greg. I've never done a full on build specifically for gaming before (always had just one decent comp to do work and play on) but I'm going to go for 2 separate builds later this year.

I might as well go the whole shibang :) Just the thought of water in my case, knowing nowt about it, fills me with trepidation. Leaks! The leaks!

Might as well get the whole thing.
The most expensive item(s) will be either the pump & reservoir, or the CPU/GPU cooling blocks if you have certain high-end kit. Once you have the pricey bits, you're 9/10ths of the way there so might as well cool the whole lot.
I'm just a few quid shy of going w/c my own self...

As it happens, I helped a friend fit a Titan X cooling set-up into his rather damn-fine rig just last night.
From looking online, it does seem you'll need a specific Titan X block, as the other Titan products do have minor differences.

Having helped a number of times in w/c rigs, it's really not hard. Take your time, be precise about your assembly and take the time to ask as many questions on here as you like, however stupid they may seem - Better to know what you're doing and enjoy the build!

I am a proper cluts and managed a few builds now. The water cooling chaps are the guys to ask and they helped me out tremendously a few years back and knew exactly what is what and what I needed.

It looks daunting but it is far easier than putting a flat pack together :D

Thanks as usual chaps. Much appreciated.

Have to say the Titan X aint doing bad on air. Pushed my overclock on the core up to 175 now (I know, I'm cautious and taking it steady!) and can still stay at around 80 degrees max with a custom fan curve of only around 55% at this temp. Pretty good.

I will be putting mine under water when I can be bothered but the cooler does a fantastic job. Sure it isn't the quietest but beasting a pair in SLI has only seen max temps of 84C.

Titan and Titan X are not compatible waterblock wise.

But a custom loop for a £850 GPU would do it justice. You'd need a block, 6 fittings, pump, res, tubing, at least 240mm of rad space and at least 2 fans.

And it really isn't hard to do. It's like putting together a computer. It's a bit more risky but nothing will go wrong unless your brain is replaced by a potato.

I was just as scared when I did my first loop. It's not hard, but it requires balls of steel the first time you fill your res up and see what trickling into the case. Once it's been in a couple of weeks though, you'll wonder what all the fuss is about.
