hi all as the title says im a noob at watercooling, as in never done one yet.

ok i have 2xgtx 480 sli, and they are getting a bit hot due to the fact my tower is under a bench and the hot air has no where to go so its getting sucked back in the case by my large fan on the top of tower.

so i was thinking of getting water cooling for the gpu's, i already have a corsair h50 for the cpu and temps are fine there.

what would i need for best cooling, sound is not a problem as its under a bench in a room at the back of the house.

and also does the rad for the watercooling go inside the case or mounted outside the case, i currently have an antec 1200 case, i7 930 with h50 cooler, 2x gtx480, 1x 2gb hdd, 2x 80gb intel ssd's, gigabyte ud5 m/b, 1000watt psu.

any help/guidance would be appreciated

You can put the radiator inside or outside the case or outside the house if you want! It's entirely up to you. I would suggest looking at the cooling sticky which I think is still linked in my sig. Blocks for your 480s won't be cheap but a simple pump and radiator for that won't cost the earth. read up on real water-cooling, think about a budget, visit some water-cooling online stores and look at what you'll need. Then come back and say what you're thinking of doing and we'll critique it.

just wandering these vapochill systems, are they a fairly simply single unit similar to say a corsair h50 only more advanced, as in simple i mean easy to install.

I'm also a watercooling noob looking at watercooling, I was wondering if you HAVE to have a resevoir?

well i decided temps arent too high but would like em lower to oc, i am looking to get watercooling for just the gpus x2 gtx 480's, would prefer the res and everything inside the case if possible, any suggestions.

Yes and No...

First of all, they aren't a watercooling unit, they use phase change cooling.

Yes, they're easy to attach and begin cooling your CPU with, however because they cool below ambient temperatures, you have to do extra work to protect your components around the cooler from condensation (or you'll fry something)

2*ek full 480 blocks £138 ish
Laing DDC-Pump 12V Pro (has built in res) £63
Thermochill PA120.2 £56
4 metres of 7/8 " tubing £8
6*1/2" fittings £9 upwards depending upon the fittings youwant to use etc.
sli connector £6 ish
6*hose clamps £5 ish
2 or 4 fans of your choice £16+

Approx £300

move the case or drill a large hole in the bench.
If the problem is hot air being recycled into the case.
An internal watercooling loop with not help, as nothing has changed and hot air is still being recycled

External watercooling with a rad outside the bench or move the case are your only real options.

Phase is NOT for beginners and it also very noisey
