Watercooling O-Rings

Been out of the w/cing loop (no pun intended

) for a long time now and have noticed all barbs seem to ship with o-rings. Are these a suitable seal and do they deteriorate at all ?

No-one use PTFE tape anymore ?

Im tempted to get some anyway for peace of mind, but any opinions ?

I used ptfe with my most recent build but i was using 2nd hand barbs so didnt want to risk it. They shouldn't leak but only takes a few more mins so why not.

If you have barbs that have O-rings you don't need PTFE. But it doesn't hurt to use it.

PTFE user here too.

Too easy to put on so not worth skimping on a little extra peace of mind.

The o-ring barbs are perfectly safe without PTFE providing you get ones with a retention groove for the o-ring to fit in. With these you can screw the barb down very tightly whereas without it there's always the change the o-ring will get squeezed out from under the barb when you tighten it up.
