Its been years since ive built a custom wc rig but am going to give it another bash so i can cool my 5850 too, question i have is about the pump, ive seen a couple of xspc ones that are bay res ones, i know there probably not the best but of the 2 ive seen one is rated at 750lph and the other at 450lph but both have a head of 1.8m, am i right in thinking the head is the pressure? If thats the case they should be both equal?

head is the power the pump has to push water up vertically againest mavity in an open system.
It's simular to torque in a car engine. or static pressure in a fan.
where as liters per hour (lph) is more akine to mph or cfm.

Pumps with high head are best for impingement blocks or multi block loops as the flow rate will stay relatively high

thought as much but for the two ive listed what would be the best bet, both are 1.8m head height but diff flow rates, my guess the higher the better

I have done a bit of modded cooling and have found 2 pumps inline before the blocks works the best. The first pump doesnt have to be that good its more of a primer pump then spend your money on the 2nd. I used a fish tank pump £15 then OCZ 750lh 1.9m (ish) This gave massive movement and 30c 60c [email protected] 24/7
