Watercooling pump, which one?

ShadowScotland had a thread that might be of use to you here

I can only comment on the 2 I've got. Between the DDC 10w and the XSPC dual bay res/pump, the XSPC is virtually silent compared to the DDC.

If you're only having a small loop and 120.1 then you could probably get away with the single bay pump/res. I'm guessing that one may be quieter although the dual bay one is certainly extremely quiet.

Thanks for link DJ, interesting thread by Shadowscotland. Also like your comment on the DDC as this is the most likely candidate due to size and the option to save some space and fit a small res.

Sadly i only have one bay available and the dual bay res/pump will not fit.

All of it has to be smaller and quieter than the Eheim 1250 im running. nnngghhhh!

Xspc also do non bay res pumps like the dcc+top - the 750 and 450
Both have 1.8m heads so can easily power a single block loop.
If using a RX or PA rad with a low restriction block get the 450.
Anything else get the 750

Heard very good things about the 450 (it's shape and near silence)
May splash out and get one for testing

Edit: forget to say - what else in your pc makes noise - what's cooling that GTX and does the Xilence ramp up during games etc

Yer grab an XSPC pump if you want silence...the Laing D5 vario (set to like 2 speed) would also be very quiet. Otherwise I would say stay away from the DDC (don't get me wrong its a great pump an all - just LOUD!).

To be honest, my water cooling system is so noisy at the moment I cannot tell how noisy the rest of the system is.

The stock 8800gtx fan is possibly the noisest component. Followed by the xilence fan rated at 20db. The PC is in a communal room where there is some ambient noise, so with what has been mentioned on here, and my own reading of reviews. A XSPC top on a DDC
pump will be just fine.

I will be buying new 120mm fans based on silence too. :)

Thanks for tips all:)
