Firstly i am new to water cooling and the sorts, and although i have seen others do it and have a vague idea of it i aint to sure on what to get.

I am looking at getting water cooling for my pc at the end of the month, as i want to be able to overclock more without having a really noisy pc with all the fans on full. I currently have a P182 so would want to be able to mount the rad and the outside of my case, and try and have the rest on the inside. I am looking on spending up to £200 on watercooling my case and if i really need to a little more. So if you could spec me something for that sort of price it would be great :)

Also would it be possible to run it passive and have a decent overclock on it, of at least 3.4 or higher on a Q6600?

whats your budget.
I have same case with a 120.3 mounted on the back with a radbox.
Bit heavy but does work OK.
I have my pump mounted inside the top HD box, took the black plastic bits out, I went for a dual bay rez as I wanted a higher volume of water, but single would do.
The blocks is personal choice really, I have fuzion v1, but v2 is out now very good blocks, I also have asus mosfets blocks and XSPC NB block, bit of a bugger to fit right.
If you are new to it, maybee not as good idea to attempt to take existing cooling off.
I found it easy, but worth it for higher overclock, especially cooling the NB.
Will keep an eye on this post and help with layouts if you get stuck.

yeah i know about the connection and stuff. i dont really want to buy a kit as i can see me getting more perfomance out of a custom built setup

Get yourself a laing D5 pump, plenty of power, robust and you can always turn it down as well if you like things silent. It's quiet on it's max setting, but better to have the option. The DDC's are probably the next best, although can be pricey with custom tops.

Both of these types of pump will handle additional blocks if you choose to add them later.

Radiators, thermochill if it'll fit - personally i use two black ice GTS', temps are reasonable, fans are quietish.

well it will be hanging off the back of my case so i suppose any rad will fit it just needs a bracket strong enough to hold it there

Yes if you're externally mounting shouldn't be a problem, thermochill are the best you can get, never really been big on externally mounting rads, but it's all down to preference isn't it.

i dont fancy folking out for a new case, and mine never gets moved anyway and has plenty of room to be able to mount it on the back so might aswell use it for now :p

I wouldnt want to now, however i will probably get a new one after christmas so would no doubt want to watercool that one. also the Quad rad looks a bit expensive for my liking
