Hi:
Got a water cooling kit but the pump just has a plug at the end of it is there any way to make it so that the pump only turns on when the pc is turned on?

Thanks

You either need to solder a relay into the PSU, buy a PCI card thing (dunno what its called but theres a PCI card available that acs as a relay i think) or get a muliplug thing thats aimed at hifi's and similar things that turns everything on/off when power gets supplied to the device in the master socket (this is the one i have gone for, i cant post a link as the site sells them and would count as a competitor)

I have an EHEIM 1250 and use the following relay, Criticool PowerPlant II Pump Relay Card. Does the job and was easy to set up. Plus you can switch it on without turning the PC on so, its easier to flush the system when you need to.

to be honest, 240v pumps are designed to be run 24/7.

Exactly, I'd have a few dead Neons and Tiger barbs if our pump wasn't able to run constantly:p Is it noise or power consumption you're worried about?

My Eheim 1250 (if seated on foam) is absolutely silent and its only 28W.
