Been trawling the net for a fair few days now and well....

Can anyone recommend a watercooling kit for a complete water noob lol.

im using a phantom case at the moment and would like to cool the cpu at first. Maybe invest in a block for my gtx590 down the line.

Any ideas????

Thanks, ive seen these but dont know anyone who has used them.

I normally throw money at things lol and end up paying triple so im trying to be a good boy this time lol.

how much have you got to spend?

might be better off buying better parts now so you not have to do it all again when you want to add a gpu.

i did it the wrong way and just spent a load of money on a poor set up.

infact i did it twice but you learn from your mistakes. had about 5 or 6 water loops now if not more lol

i have enough to buy what needs to be bought (well within reason lol)

Your expereinces is pretty much what i do with everything (buy cheap, buy twice)

so what do you recommend for my rig?

NZXT Phantom
2600k cpu
Z68 Gigabyte UD4 mobo
GTX590 GPU

Well if you can afford it....

Not looked at your case im on my phone now but if a 360 rad will fit this is what i would get.

rx360 rad
ek supreme hf cpu block
ek gpu block
any res makes no odds
d5 pump

Google then you will find them easy.

When i get home ill do a more detailed list. But Im sure someone will beat me to that.

Superb fella cheers.

If you could give me a full warts n all I will be grateful.

From what ive read its a mindfield lol. Kill coils needed / not needed, fesser coolants bad?, copper and nickel reacts etc etc lol.

Confused.com :confused::eek:

FRONT, 1 X 140mm
REAR, 1 X 120mm (included)
SIDE, 2 x 120mm, 1 x 200/230 (2 x 120mm included)
TOP, 2 X 200mm (1 x LED 200mm included)

That's the spec of your case.

So i think you should be able to get a 240 rad in the top. See if two 120 fans will fit. If not your going to have to change your case. Or put 120 rads everywhere lol

or have an external rad which im really not a fan off.

ok so if you can fit a 240 rad in the you will need a 120 as well for good temps.

so i would get

rx240
rx120
ek supreme hf cpu block
ek gpu block
any res makes no odds (i like the swiftech micro res)
d5 pump
6 1/2" barbs
3meter 7/16" tubing
3 or 6 fans of choice

you will aslo need 2 1/2" barbs for each block and i used proper barbs for my res because the ones you get with it are cheap plastic ones.

if you get the 7/16" tubing you dont need any clamps for them the tubing will be really tight. i normally dip the end of the tubing in hot water to soften it up. slip it over the barb and when it cools in a few seconds you cant pull it off easy at all and sometimes you need to cut the tubing off.

you can got for a cheaper pump the mcp355 with a res top on it. also cheaper rads, blocks etc

for the water i would use either deionised or distilled and either a silver coil or biocide (ptnuke etc)

fesser coolants bad? yes it will clocg up your tubes and blocks etc.

copper and nickel reacts? no its copper and aluminium as far as i know.

ive got copper rads and nickel blocks

any more question just ask

wow thanks for the response!!!!!

Appreciated big time

From what ive read you can get a 360 up top but the thin one? Ive read others have put the rad you quoted but have to mod up the case for it to fit. Might have a stab at this as I can lay my hands on a 360 quite easily :D

you would have to mod it without a doubt with any 360 rad.

you fill it at the top of your res. you can either cut your tube to drain it or you can put a drainage tap in it there about £13 save messing but still £13 for so little use.

your going to need at least a 360 rad or 240 + 120

ive got a 360 + 120 and temps are great on a 2600k and gtx480 sli.

you rig is going to ber pumping the same heat out at mine there or there abouts.

you could get away with just a 240 but you might be limiting your clocks with high temps.

haha call me r kelly (ive got that vibe)

Wait, thats prob not a good thing lol

Moving on lol

I will steer clear of said flow indicator however im liking the sound of the drainage jobby lol.

Also what make is the pump? Manufacturer that is.

ive got d5 on it lol

swiftech

get the vario. you can change the speed of the flow. but i just have mine full whack and its still silent

there are other make but doesnt make a difference. there probably all made at the same place but have different brands on them
