Watercooling setup

I currently have an all air cooling setup but thinking of replacing it with water cooling for both CPU and GPU.

System specs :

Coolermaster Haf-x case
MSI GD-65 M/Board
Intel i5-4670K (Silver Arrow SB cooler) @ 4.4ghz
XFX R290 DD @ 1000/1300

Ive been looking at fitting a rad in the top of the case, something like the black ice SR1 360 and then a bay reservoir and pump combo.
There is so many various blocks for the cpu and vga that im not to sure what would be a could combination.

Anyone have any ideas on a setup that would work with the specs above, mainly looking for silence on the system.

Do you think this is possible for a budget of around £300

I did a loop in a Haf-X couple of years back.

The max you can fit in a Haf-X is a normal thickness 360 in the roof. Unless you want to get the modding tools out, which I wouldn't for a first time. For two cores, that's ok, but temps won't be stunning come next Summer. You can put an XSPC dual bay res in the drive bays, and turn the speed up to max.

I would also get those new fans that look exactly the same as the GT's, as they would be quiet.

You think i would be better to get another case then?

Was thinking of changing the case for something a bit smaller later hence why i was thinking of going the water cooling route. The biggest issue i have at the moment is the size of the heatsink, its massive!

When I decided to go down the full loop route, I went for a case that could fit a 360 thick and a 240 thick rad. So I went for the Phanteks Enthoo Primo.

Haf-X is a decent case for air cooled cards and a 240 in the roof for your CPU. But not much more. If you ever wanted to go crossfire, you wouldn't be able to cool the cards.

Of course, your other option is to put a 240 or 360 in the roof, and then have a rad outside the case mounted on one of those radiator stands. Quite a few lads do it who don't want to buy a new case. Some lads will say it's overkill but the more rad real estate you have, the quieter your rig will be.

A w/c rig will look a lot nicer than that huge heatsink. You probably can't see much of the rig through the window.

As for CPU block, I use XSPC Raystorm.
For GPU blocks, I use the XSPC Razor range. I don't know if they do one for your card, you will have to look.

I copied the compression fitting sizes and tube sizes from the OCUK tech labs kits for my first loop. But its up to you. Some lads like tube the diameter of drainpipe.

Any more question, post back. you must be 100% confident before you start your loop and know exactly what you are doing.

Thanks for your help.

I will have a look through the cases and see what ones i like. Ive had the Haf-X for a few years now and its always good to have a change. I dont think i will be going the dual card route anyway as one card is fine for me.

I also like the big cases as they are so much easier to work with but i could really do with something a bit smaller now.
