i am planning a custom G5 build and want it to be water cooled. i am currently on lower spec stuff but i want the cooling to be capable of effectively cooling a mid overclocked i7 and a high end gpu.
it is important that it is as quiet as possible.
i think its possible to fit a 2 240 rads into the case at worse a 240 and a 120 rad.
was wondering is it possible to make this type of system silent or near to it?
i think one of the rads will need to be slim and the other can be as thick as needed.
so what rads and more importantly what fans can be used?
i wont have space to do a push/pull on the rads either.

If you looking for a slim rad, the Stealth GT I believe is one of the thinnest on the market, but obviously it doesn't cool as well as a thicker rad such as a Thermochill.

For as close to silence as possiable, the right fan is the key. Personally I highly rate the Sharkoon 1000rpm fans, very quiet and move more than enough air, especially if its just for a radiator. They were also voted best 120mm fan by Custom PC recently!

The other noisest part in your loop is going to be the pump, depending on what you plan on cooling and how restrictive your loop is, a Laing DDC 1-T Pro 10w should do the job perfectly and is very quiet, is your loop is quite restrictive or has a lot of components the 18w version would be better suited but it is slightly noiser.
How-ever, the key to a quiet pump is the way you mount it. If you mount it straight to the bottom of the case (i.e, straight onto the metal) it will be very noisy and resonate something horriable. The Laing pumps comes with a foam mounting pad (aleast mine did) and this helps issolate the noise pretty well.
An even better solution is to supensd the pump, either off the hoses (I don't know how advisable this is but have seen it done) or bungee mount it the same way you would bungee mount a harddrive!

i think im going to mount it to a foam or rubber pad that will be attached to the case. i want it to be sturdy enough to be transported easily and there is not that much free space to bungee it i think.
only one of the rads needs to be thin so i will look into the stealth gt and for the thick rad im thinking of a thermochill as i have read good reviews about them being quite good and are also good under low air flow fans.

been thinking about how restrictive the loop will, im guessing it could be reasonably restrictive as it will be a prity tight loop with 2 rads in it, cpu and gpu block.
how noisy are the pumps? will it be louder than low noise fans?
I assumed the noise wouldn’t be a problem if the pump was properly mounted.
