Watercooling temp differences

Hi all,

I have just installed another card into my PC that is watercooled. It is the same card and the same waterblocks and is in the same loop. The cards are in parallel.

Three cards run under load at 55 degrees and then the new card I put in runs at 45 degrees. Even idle has a delta of 3-4 degrees.

I find it hard to believe that I messed up the block install on three cards or the paste has not been applied correctly etc. but I suppose it could be?

Any ideas?

Sounds like a iffy sensor more than anything, assuming the temps on the original 3 cards haven't changed much since putting the new card in.

- They are in parallel
- Clocks and voltages are the same

I thought it was odd so I cleaned all the 3 old cards and put the blocks back on and they are now 10 degrees cooler. What on earth went wrong with those installs is beyond me. :(

Thanks for your input guys.

That's odd, MX-4 is renowned as one of the better pastes. Did you have good TIM coverage?
Have you got a pic of your setup? I'm struggling to get my head round how 3 cards would be plumbed in parallel?

Yeah - It is odd, I don't know if the block was not tight enough or when i put the blocks on it slid and moved the blob of paste.

I don't have a pic, but I am using one of these:

That's odd, I'd try reseating and if thats not the problem then it could possibly be a flow issue? Faulty temp sensors are quite unlikely
