Planning on going full water cooling for next upgrade.
would like a real quite system.haven.t chosen what case it will go in but defo have decided either 1x360 + either another 360 or 480.it will cooling currently a 4770k at 4.4 and a 980ti possibly sli.
with that in mind.would like sujjestions on what kit to use.
i have heard d5 pumps are most quite of the lot?.is it better to get a pump res combo or seperate?
would like the fans to be run low as possible for silence.

Thanks zia

If I had the money I would defo go caselabs.
one of the best modular cases around, build quality second to none, the only problem is the money and staggering choices you can make

Only thing putting me off with caselab m8a is
1.its smaller than the lian li
2.no case filters
3.no hot swap bays
4.length time to order from website to delivery.custom cost etc and some additional items would increase the cost well beyond the lian li case.

Where about in the UK are you out of curiosity?

To whom are you directing that question?

Say for example if i was buying the caselabs case and if you guys were to spec it up for Very inaudible system what component would you use?

Thanks zia

Hi,
I run an S8+Ped with 24 fans (2x360 P/P + case) at 700 ppm on an Aquaero 6 and can barely hear it. Temps stay about 26c, ambient +2, for liquid on a 4790K and GTX980. It's such a good case that the extra is well worth it. The biggest problem is avoiding the constant urge to tinker.

I was initially quoting DeathJester, however, it could be directed at anyone.

In terms of components, what are you looking at cooling in terms of Hardware?

The M8 can hold 3 360mm radiators, and that would be ample for most setups.

Hmm after a few day looking at youtube.vids, forum, site reviews i've settled on lian li case mainly because i had one before and i've not been disappointed with thier quality of work.if i was loaded yeah would defo go for the caselabs but at present am more inclined towards the lain li.
so these are the bits that i will be transfering to the lain li
haswell 4770k at 4.4 currently
780ti soon to be replaced by 980 ti
6 hdd of various makes mostly 3tb ones
2 samsung ssds
blu ray drive
zalman fan controller
1050w enermax psu

so this is my spec list so far (subject to change)

1.Watercool Heatkiller IV Pro Intel - Pure Copper
2.EK Water Blocks EK-D5 Vario X-TOP Incl. Pump - Plexi

not sure which rads to go for so far looking at 2 makes both of them seem to do real for low to med fan speeds.will be using one 360 in roof and 480 on front panel.
360
Hardware Labs Black ICE Radiator GT Xtreme 360
XSPC RX360 Triple Fan Radiator V3

480
XSPC RX480 Quad Fan Radiator V3
HARDWARELABS BLACK ICE NEMESIS 480GTX

XSPC Photon 170 Tube Reservoir

tubing and fittings no idea where to start really :p

will be just using normal distilled water for now.

for fans not sure there soo many to choose from but due to preferring silence will no doubt go for low speed ones either noctua or some thing similar.

Your fittings must be compression. Easy to work with, secure the tube very well and look great. I use Monsoon, but that was a aesthetics choice as with all the parts I ordered. Search for photos of your case that have been water-cooled to decide what parts to use and where to place them. This is what I did. You may need to use angle fittings to help with the tube run, so its good idea to see what others have done.
This will also help you decide the thickness of the tube. I selected 13/10mm as it looked good in my case. Get PrimoChill PrimoFlex Advanced LRT tubing as everyone has great experiences with it.
Get Mayhems fluid, there is a reason why its the first choice for water-cooled systems.
I have CPU and GPU in my loop and use 2* EKWB PE 240 with Corsair SP quite PWM fans. Plenty of cooling and I use my ROG mobo to set fan profiles to control the pump and fan speeds. This means 30 degree temps with some noise or 40 degree silent etc.
Pump will need a mounting plate to help with vibration. I use a pump/res combo as my case space is compact and that also meant I used a DDC, so it could sit on the case floor.

thanks for your input,i really like the bitspower compression fitting. also like you i've chosen 3/8-1/2 tube diameter its a shame ocuk don't have much in stock....
going to wait for rads to get here and see which is the best layout before buying the fittings.
for fan i was looking at these they really look nice.

The one thing I have noticed about water cooling is that the fans will be the one thing you hear when you set it up. Everyone said a DDC pump is noisy, but running it sensibly and with vibration dampening and I find mine to be very quite. The fans are the things you ramp up to cool your blocks and I would take the time to review the noise levels for the ones you want. I have Corsair SP120 quite edition, and they are actually not that quite. I went for the look and did not appreciate the noise.

OCUK don't stock that fan, they do stock the UFO fan which is similar from Antec, however not sure how good the Antec version is for static pressure.
