Hi Guys

Been having a think recently about some activities we can offer in our shop at OcUK HQ and what I would like to do is offer a Watercooling workshop every few months. Sort of like a mini forum meet but with an aim to provide our customers not just with the hardware range to buy but also practical instruction and advice on how to install it.

Ideally, this is to attract newcomers but everyone would be welcome.

The premise would be that we make a forum thread every few months, with a Saturday date so that more people are available, I would try to arrange it around a month in advance.

Users sign up via an official forum thread in the latest news and deals section for an AM or PM slot with a view to 10-15 people attending each session.

The session would be ran in a format designed to get everyone up to the same knowledge level and then progress from there.

- A simple introduction to watercooling.
- examples of watercooling designs and how to design a basic loop
- what sort of hardware to buy and how to decide what you need
- installation demonstration
- filling techniques
- draining a loop and general maintenance.
- Q&A session at the end.

This would last around 2 hours and be something I would be offering in my own time, free of charge.

We could also offer a more advanced session for things like graphics card cooling or advanced cooling solutions if there was a demand for it.

Really, I am looking for feedback from you guys to see if it is something that people would want us to offer. If it sees a lot of popularity, then we can of course increase the frequency of how often it happens.

comments and suggestions are more than welcome :)

I would be Interested In this, I (think) i know a lot about the process and have seen it done but not actually done it myself.

And also to learn from a Pro!

I reckon it'd be very useful for those that think it's way more complicated than it actually is to get good practical advice in person.

More importantly, what kind of biscuit selection are we talking about here?

I thought you guys were going to do something like this on Twitch but for Overclocking workshops with 8 Pack. Great idea though for locals but if you can Twitch this then I'll defo tune in.

:)

Would it be possiable to maybe consider a actual PC building workshop as well?

Its something I'd find useful personally being a total newbie to building a PC, from just a bunch or parts through to completion.

Not sure how viable something like that would be?

Watercooling would be intresting though for sure

That is an excellent idea. I will speak to marketing about that as it is certainly a possibility.

I have confidence you can make this happen :D

Persuade some of the manufacturers of your workshop and get some advertising in for them in exchange for some free swag that you can give away to attendees/viewers. :p

In my opinion it might be easier to make use of the ocuk youtube page (didn't even realise there was one....) to show the 'tutorials' there. Would you actually get enough people coming in for a workshop?

For me you're too far away and I'm sure I'm not the only one even though I'd love to find out some more info on watercooling etc.

QA sessions could be done over twitter/google+/facebook etc or even a temp web based irc chat box.

Combining the 2 could be interesting workshop and twitch (live audience lol) - especially would be interesting to see some of the more common forum questions covered like watercooling options and 120mm and 140mm fans.

But like many distance is an issue for me.

Sounds brilliant. I have to say, the fact that Ive never seen anything like this being done with my own two eyes is whats putting me off! :D

I like the idea of ocuk customers being able to bring along our own stuff, I'm interested in watercooling but don't have any experience

Great idea but a bit far for me for 2 hours. I'd happily pay for a day, or if you were to travel around the country I'm sure people would stump up the cash locally.

wish you guys where not so far away as I would love to attend something like this. (3 hours from me)

think its a excellent idea
