Budget is about £30.

It'll need to be able to fit a 15.6" laptop, bigger is better. I'd rather have more space than not enough!

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

your current rucksack + a dry bag liner from any outdoors shop. will be completely waterproof (you can use them as buoyancy aids if you like) as opposed to a "water resistant" backpack ,the zips will always leak.

I have a Krieger R20 which is fantastic. Bigger sizes also available.

Water-resistant zips, never had any ingress.

Nice adjustable chest based strap and reflective parts.

Hmm that might be an idea. I already have one of those alpkit waterproof bags that roll down at the top so can put that in a single compartment bag.

Still would like a separate padded area for laptop and notes etc. though.

I'll check out the other bags as well, thanks for suggestions :)

I just wouldn't trust a laptop in a water resistant bag id want it in something water proof :p

Yep, going to get a waterproof sleeve for it as well, but still want a waterproof bag for other stuff like books, documents etc.

Love the look of the Knox bag that Mr Blonde recommended, especially with the helmet bag that attaches to it. May have to spend that bit extra and get that.

It's a £1000 worth of laptop so might line the laptop section with my waterproof ocean bag alpkit folding thingy as well!

I use one of the above when commuting all year round, had mine for about a year. I'm doing an apprenticeship so I'm at College once a week carrying books etc and never had any problems with leaks. I can just about fit my 17 inch gaming laptop into it so I'm sure a 15 inch in a case would do fine.

The great thing is if you roll it up with air inside it will even keep the air in and float (not sure where that would come in useful!) but it shows you how well sealed it is. Would certainly recommend one, only down side is the size I guess depending on what you want to fit in it.
